Equinox Payments Achieves PCI Security Standards Council Listing as Component of the First Data TransArmor P2PE Solution 3DES for the US and Canada

Includes Luxe PCI PTS 5.x certified devices and Remote Key Injection

October 24, 2019 – Equinox Payments announced today that its Luxe 8500i and Luxe 6200m payment terminals and its Remote Key Injection (RKI) solution have been approved by the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC). The hardware terminals are certified as part of the multi-layered “First Data TransArmor P2PE Solution – 3DES” from First Data, now Fiserv.

This certification will enable businesses in the US and Canada that utilize these Equinox Payments terminals to immediately benefit from the latest security standards for both fixed point-of-sale (POS) and mobile payment acceptance. The Equinox Remote Key Injection (RKI) system that allows retailers to update keys and software without removing terminals from the checkout location has also been certified.

Rob Hayhow, vice president of Equinox is proud of this tremendous milestone. “This achievement allows us to provide merchants and our partners with a solution that includes PCI PTS 5.x certified devices and delivers operational efficiencies that significantly save time, money and labor.”

Point-to-Point Encryption (P2PE) validated solutions can greatly reduce the scope of merchant data subject to PCI compliance. Advanced security technology in the terminals includes PCI PTS 5.x, SRED, and P2PE. The same software application runs on both the Luxe 8500i fixed POS solution and the Luxe 6200m modular solution that supports both fixed and mobile use cases.

The TransArmor P2PE Solution, which includes 3DES encryption, is available for most verticals including retail, restaurant, QSR and healthcare.
