General Accountant

The company delivers a full suite of high security, end-to-end electronic payment products and services. Equinox is currently looking for a Project Manager located in Scottsdale, Arizona.
JOB SUMMARY:
The General Accountant, reporting directly to the Controller and working closely with the Senior Accountant, will provide support to Finance and Accounting Department including the month-end close.
CORE COMPETENCIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support month-end close processes across multiple entities
- Reconciliation of and overall responsibility for assigned general ledger accounts (including investigation of variances and unusual items)
- Prepare bank reconciliations
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations; including subledgers
- Assist and support with accounts payable and receivable transactions and reconciliations
- Performance of month-end account reconciliations for multiple entities;
- Assist with process improvement and automation of repetitive tasks by utilizing software tools to streamline repetitive tasks like data entry, transaction recording, and report generation
- Assist with preparation of monthly accurate and timely financial statements including preparation of consolidated financial statements while ensuring compliance with accounting standards
- Analyzing company’s accounts and ensuring compliance with financial reporting and other standard accounting procedures.
- Prepare monthly reporting and remittances for sales taxes
- Prepare monthly journal entries including payroll entries and reconciliation
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and
regulatory requirements. - Provide information and support to third party accountants for preparation of sales tax/income tax returns and audits
- Assist in ad hoc reporting requirements and projects, as needed
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of 3-5 year of accounting experience.

Strong knowledge and understanding of accounting standards, including generally accepted accounting principles and international financial reporting standards

Familiarity with foreign currency accounting and consolidation of financial statements across multiple entities

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Curiosity about processes and how processes can be made more efficient is essential

Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Ability to create efficiencies and improve processes

Excellent project management, collaboration and communication skills

Advanced capabilities with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel, required

Experience with ERP system, preferably MS Dynamics NAV, and related business processes required
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred or enrolled in the
program
